The founders of Taza Chocolate were inspired by traditional chocolate makers in Oaxaca, Mexico, who stone ground their cacao beans to create their artisanal products.
Taza’s direct-trade, organic chocolates are made with the same stone-ground beans. These traditional discs are suitable for snacking (the rustic texture is a crunchy treat) or melting (nice in hot milk). Seasonings range from cinnamon to guajillo chili. $4.50 at natural markets or from www.tazachocolate.com.
