How to Make Your Own Nut Milk

Whip up a dairy-free alternative with this simple whole-foods recipe.

How to Make Your Own Nut Milk

Whether you’re lactose intolerant, vegan, or simply looking to make more of your food and drink from scratch, creating your own nut milk gives you an easy alternative to the store-bought stuff — without all the industrial sugars, stabilizers, and other additives. (For more about additives in nut milk and other natural foods, see “Carrageenan Concerns“.)

Experiment with adding natural spices or flavorings, or simply enjoy plain. Most nut milks store in the fridge for a few days. Just shake them before using.
